Fable (寓言) is one of the best CDs Faye has made since Impatience, no doubt about it. Without having any instrumental songs it goes back to long instrumental parts in the songs like what you find also on Impatience, and I think that is really refreshing. This CD has two major parts, the first five songs and the last five songs. The first five songs relates to Buddhism, they have big arrangements where the song and singing is not so important, but instruments and lyrichs are. The style is neither asian or western, they make a pattern together that is rarly seen. In a sence I wish those songs were the complete CD, or that the whole CD would be like this, they are a piece of art really. The last five songs are more "traditional" HongKong pop, but with Faye's own special style. Here Faye's singing takes over again like we are used to. The last song "Book of Exhilaration" is a very sweet song, my personal favorite together with "The Cambrian Period" and "New Tenant". If you want to buy only one CD this year make sure this is the one. Buy this cd from Yesasia Japanese version All translations have been made by Yilin.
